Doug was saved at the age of 12 in the Noah Baptist Church in Centre, Alabama. Doug pastored several churches in Northeast Alabama and came to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in 1997. Doug graduated from Jacksonville State Univeristy, attended Southeastern Bible College and has earned Master and Doctorate degrees from Covington Theological Seminary. During his ministry here, the Church has experienced tremendous growth to the glory of God. Doug and his wife Marcia have two children, Stephen and Kelly. Stephen and his wife, Stefanie, and their two children Emme and Bronson live in Alabama as does Kelly. |
 Co-Pastor Rev. Shane Roberson |
Shane was born in Gadsden, Alabama on February 7, 1974. He received Christ as Savior on March 22, 1988. He was licensed in the gospel ministry in 1996 and ordained on June 7, 1998. He has attended the Stephen Olford center for Biblical Preaching and holds an earned BA from Luther Rice Seminary and a M. Min. in Theology from Covington Theological Seminary. He is presently working on his M.A.C. S. from Luther Rice Seminary in pursuit of his M. Min and Doctor of Ministry. Shane married Miriam on August 2, 1997. They have five children; Alyssa, Holly, Garrett, Grant, and John Grady. Shane has served at Mount Pleasant for 14 years. |
 Recreation/Administration Mark Edwards |
Bro. Mark was saved, baptized, and joined Mt. Pleasant in July of 1970. He has attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church since being a young child and counts it a blessing to part of the work the Lord is doing here. Bro. Mark has served in several volunteer and part time staff positions over the years. He retired from Georgia Power in Feb. of 2008 and began his full time ministry service here at Mt. Pleasant at that time. Bro. Mark is married to Carla who is the church Library Director. In August of 2010 they will be married 30 years. Mark and Carla have one grown daughter, Dana, who is a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Master's Degree in Advertising and Public Relations. |
 Music Minister Donnie Muse |
Donnie Muse is married to his wonderful wife Tammy and they have five children. God called him to Mt. Pleasant twenty three years ago. He served in the music and youth ministry for about seven years, when God began convicting his heart about full time music ministry. In March of 1994 he was called to be the minister of music on a part time basis, then in 2000 he began full time ministry. Donnie invites everyone to,"Please come and join us in our music family there is something for everyone. We have graded choirs form K-4 through 12th grade. Then you can join the adult choir or our Sr. Adult choir. If you play an instrument we would love to have you join our church orchestra. Come be a part of our family and lets win the world for Christ together as we minister through song" |
 Missions Director Kathy Parsons |
Kathy has been a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for twenty years; called into full time ministry out of the business community in 2001. She teaches English As A Second Language at an International Sunday School class on Sunday mornings and Adult Reading and Writing, Kids Club Tutoring and Manna House Food Pantry Ministry throughout the week, as well as sing in our wonderful adult choir. She is a proud grandmother of little Noah Parsons and she enjoys working in our nursery ministry on Sunday nights. Kathy's biblical training includes: Certified Minister of Missions, and she is currently a student of Trinity Bible College and Seminary, seeking a B. A. Brady was saved at the age of 18 while attending Trinity Baptist Church in Newnan, Ga where he spent most of his life. During his college years God called him to full time ministry with teenagers. His first position was assistant youth pastor at his home church, shortly after God lead him to serve as Student Minister at Sargent Baptist Church where he ministered to teenagers for 3 years. While at Sargent Baptist he married his high school sweetheart Meredith, they have been happily married for 5 years and have. Another call of God lead Brady to serve as the Student Minister here at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he has the chance to work with an amazing group of students and adult leaders. |
 Children Director Ryan Stewart |
Ryan has served in Children's and Student ministry for over 18 years. His wife, Teresa has served beside him in ministry and they have three boys, Jacob, Alex, and Andrew. Our belief is that God gives us the opportunity to develop an even stronger relationship with our kids through serving Christ. We can lead and support our children through their developing years and set an example for them to follow. Our ultimate example above all others is and should be Jesus Christ. |
 Junior Church Pastor Ed Girard |
Bro. Ed was raised in Virginia most of his life before joining the Air Force in 1990. Later that year after trusting in Jesus he began to get involved in ministry and surrendered his life to the Lord for full time Christian service. He has been involved in a variety of children's ministries since 1993. He graduated from Trinity Baptist College in May 2002 majoring in Bible and Church Ministries with a Children’s Ministry proficiency, and was ordained by Trinity Baptist Church in September 2002. Psalm 37:4 is his life verse, "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." He and his wife Jade have been living in Carrollton since 2005 and have been at Mt. Pleasant since 2008. They have 3 boys, Robert, Riley and Jase. |
Kevin Bush Associate Music Director |
Kevin was saved on August 3, 1987 at the tender age of seven, and was gladly baptized into Christ at Mt. Pleasant on September 6, 1987. Kevin accepted the call into the ministry in the summer of 1998 after attending a mission trip to Mexico with the Mt. Pleasant Youth Group. Since that time, he has served not only as the Associate Minister of Music, but also serves as Chairman of the Church Audit Committee, coaches the AWANA Bible Quiz team, plays in the MPBC Orchestra, and assists with the Youth Praise Band. Kevin is engaged to Miss Ashley Knight of Whitesburg and prays daily that their lives and relationship will be a testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness to those who are faithful to Him. |
